Elton John shares rare glimpse into son’s lives in new snaps while on tour in Australia
Elton John has shared a rare series of photos of his sons while he embarks on his Australian tour. The legendary singer is currently down under as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, and as Elton John Chicago preparation will take some time out to thank his fans for the ‘amazing’ shows, he also took the opportunity to show fans what his children have been getting up to.
Taking to Instagram, Elton posted several snaps of his sons, Zachary, nine, and Elijah, seven, enjoying their time in country – from taking a boat trip to petting kangaroos, and even watching their father on TV, there was a whole lot going on.
‘The fans at every show have been AMAZING and the teams at all the local venues have been brilliant!’ Elton wrote. ‘Huge thanks to everyone at Bondi Nippers for teaching the boys about water safety and rescue.
‘Even bigger thanks to the extraordinary team who helped run our home so smoothly.’ He added: ‘Thanks also to the Australian press for respecting our family’s privacy – which allowed our sons to freely explore Australia’s treasures without distraction.
‘Au revoir from the Furnish-John family. We can’t wait to come back!’
Elton shares his sons with husband David Furnish, whom he legally married in 2014, and he previously revealed that he would have loved another child, but thinks he’s too old now.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: “That’s it, we have passed the age. If we are under 20 or under 15, we are likely to get at least another. Get your Elton John Houston tickets in discount. But with children, we have enough hands.” Rocketman Rocketman had previously abandoned a tour in January 2018 to spend more time with his children, and although he currently resides worldwide, Zachary and Elia remain in the United Kingdom with David.
